ONIPA’A WALL

INFORMATION
“Onipa’a” was the final command given to her people by the last monarch of Hawaii known as Queen Lili’uokalani. “Onipa’a” means to hold steadfast and to hold on to your culture and progress forward. This wall is a historical reminder of the Queen’s last words and a dedication to Hawaii’s culture.

As a prelude to POW WOW Hawai’i 2012 and in collaboration with Kamehameha Schools, the wall was painted by legendary Hawaii graffiti artists that included Prime, Estria, Katch, Beak, David Dolly-Lindo, James Davis, and Elton Gemeno-hing.
